Why Are There Salary Hours on the Weekend?

Modified on Tue, 11 Jul 2023 at 12:37 PM

CAUTION

Many companies set FCX to auto-generate Salary hours each working day. This usually comes out to 8 hrs per day, M-F = 40hrs.

While most companies charge Salary hours to overhead, some dispatch their Salary Emps for visibility to their planned movements and/or allocation.

Please be careful to avoid dispatching Salary employees on the weekend unless they are specifically set-up to record actual Salary hours instead of the flat amount (usually 40). If they are on a dispatched for the weekend and set-up for auto-generation of hours, FCX will generate a TC with hours on the dispatched days, thereby recording excessive hours for the salary employee.

If you accidentally create Salary hours on a weekend day and want to remove them, do the following:

  • Open the TC itself (in FCX Desktop) usually from the TC Review Interface
  • Go to the Payroll Allocation tab
  • Remove the rows from the Payroll Allocation table, thereby reducing approved hours to 0.
  • Complete and close the TC.
