Kit All/Partially

The BOM's “Kit” lifecycle stage is available once you Sent the BOM to Warehouse (change stage to the appropriate one). Anyone who has full access to the BOM, can kit it, that is BP Managers, Warehouse Leads, IC Administrators, etc.

We have two options of how to kit a BOM:

1. Kit All Materials — accessible if the BOM's Warehouse has enough materials. Requested QTY = Available QTY on stock.

You can check the material balance in warehouse in several ways:

  • Using Inventory Balance dashboard.
  • Open the Warehouse location card and run the Excel report “View Current Balance”.
  • Use the option “Show Materials Report” in the BOM itself.

2. Kit Partially — used to kit materials that are on stock now. Since we kit only available QTY, this option will divide the BOM into two parts. First is a kitted BOM, it includes materials that we can pick up. The second is called a Remaining BOM. The remaining BOM stays at the “Sent to Warehouse” stage. It contains a list of materials that are missing. This material's shortage should be resolved with a purchase request or transfer from another warehouse.

When you partially kit a BOM and a Remaining BOM is created, the system does not send a notification to deliver it to the WH Manager Inbox. The best way to find the Remaining BOM is to open or refresh the BOM Dashboard.

Once a kitted BOM is created, the system generates a Financial Distribution. It pulls a Build Plan and BOM Total into the appropriate fields of the Financial Distribution: Build Plan and Amount, respectively.

However, the materials are grouped by billable and non-billable. We take the “billable” marker from the material card and charge the amount to a specific Financial Account. Financial Accounts for billable and non-billable materials are defined in the system constant.

Complete BOM, Sent to Site

After a BOM is kitted and materials are picked, the next step is to send materials to a Site. To do this, use the appropriate “Complete/Sent to Site” button. This moves the BOM to the Completed stage. A kitted QTY of completed BOM is displayed in the mobile app as a “Sent to Site” QTY.
